Stock evaluation
What it does
Stock evaluation runs a structured multi-step analysis on one ticker and ends with a clear recommendation: Buy, Hold, Sell, Overweight, or Underweight, with the reasoning behind it.
Each step is run by a specialised AI agent, and you can watch progress in real time as the workflow runs.
When to use it
- You’re considering a buy and want a structured second opinion before pulling the trigger.
- You want a single page that pulls together fundamentals, technicals, news, and portfolio fit instead of opening five tools.
- You hold the stock and want to re-evaluate whether the original thesis still holds.
- You’re comparing two names — run an evaluation on each and compare the verdicts.
How to use it
- Open Stock evaluation from the sidebar.
- Enter the ticker and click Evaluate.
- The page kicks off the workflow and shows a progress panel with each step in order:
- Gather context — what kind of company, where it trades, basic facts.
- Fundamentals — key financial metrics, growth, profitability, balance sheet.
- Technicals — price action and chart context.
- News & macro — recent developments and the macro backdrop.
- Portfolio fit — how the position would interact with what you already hold.
- Bull / bear debate — both sides of the trade, structured.
- Risk review — what could go wrong.
- Final verdict — the rating and the reasoning.
- As each step completes, its output appears below the progress panel.
- The final rating is shown as a coloured badge at the top once the workflow finishes.
You can leave the page mid-run. The job continues in the background and shows up when you return.
If a step fails
- Click Retry to re-run the failed step. You can choose a different AI model from the picker if available.
- Steps are independent — a failure in one doesn’t necessarily break the rest of the report, but the Final verdict can only be produced once all upstream steps succeed.
Tips & gotchas
- Evaluation is a workflow, not an instant lookup. Expect a wait for the whole thing to finish.
- Portfolio fit only works if a broker is connected (or if you have manual investments entered). Without holdings, the agent can’t reason about diversification.
- The verdict isn’t financial advice. It’s structured reasoning to inform your decision — read the rationale, don’t just look at the badge.
- Re-run when material news breaks. The verdict reflects information at the time of the run.
- Same ticker, different runs may differ slightly. That’s normal for multi-agent reasoning. Look at the rationale, not just the label.
