Holdings & positions

What it does

The Holdings page shows every long-term position you own across every broker you’ve connected, merged into one table. Positions does the same for shorter-term and intraday trades.

Both pages talk directly to the brokers — what you see is what’s in your accounts right now.

When to use it

  • You hold stocks across more than one broker and want a single P&L number.
  • You want to spot a position whose weight has drifted (concentration risk).
  • You’re checking the cost basis of a name before adding to it or trimming.
  • You’re preparing for a tax-loss harvest and need a clean P&L view.

How to use it

Holdings

  1. Open Holdings from the sidebar.
  2. The four cards at the top show Invested, Current value, P&L (₹), and Returns % across all connected brokers.
  3. The table below lists each holding. Columns:
    • Symbol — the ticker.
    • Broker — colour-coded badge so you can tell where each line is held.
    • Qty, Avg price, LTP — quantity, average buy price, last traded price.
    • P&L and P&L % — green when profitable, red when underwater.
    • Weight % — how much of your total portfolio that line represents.
  4. Click a row to drill into the stock’s fundamentals or open it on other pages.
  5. Use Refresh (top right) to force a re-fetch from the broker.

Positions

  1. Open Positions from the sidebar.
  2. The table lists each open trade with Symbol, Qty, Average price, LTP, and P&L.
  3. Use Refresh to pull the latest values.

Tips & gotchas

  • The first load can take a couple of seconds while the dashboard talks to your brokers. After that it’s cached for a short window.
  • A line missing? Check the broker. Holdings only show what the broker reports. New buys may take a few minutes to appear.
  • Weight % adds up to 100% across all connected brokers, not per broker.
  • Mutual funds and off-platform investments don’t appear here. Add them on Manual investments instead.
  • A broker’s row is blank or errors? Re-authenticate on Brokers — broker sessions expire periodically.
  • Positions vs holdings: “Positions” tracks intraday and short-term trades that aren’t yet settled into delivery; “Holdings” tracks what’s already in your demat account.
  • Brokers — connect or refresh broker sessions.
  • Manual investments — track everything brokers don’t.
  • Restructuring — turn your current holdings into a rebalance plan.
  • Glossary — LTP, P&L, weight, and other terms used here.
